The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama stood up the children and family of late founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings, who were at his office earlier on Monday November 16.
The Children of the former President were left unattended to at the office in a rather humiliating manner when they arrived at the NDC flagbearer’s office at 8am on Monday to inform him officially about the death of Rawlings.
They arrived to a locked office and had to wait for about an hour until the cleaners arrived to put the office in shape.
The delegation which included, Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina and Kimathi Rawlings had to wait for over an hour without anyone to attend to them.
The delegation had to leave the office after waiting for over an hour and returned home to receive other scheduled visitors.
According to sources, the NDC Presidential candidate and his campaign team had prior knowledge of their visit and was billed to arrive early at the office to meet them.
The Children led by the eldest Zenator, agreed to visit Mr. Mahama and official inform him of their father’s demise after the NDC lambasted the family for going to see President Akufo-Addo first and not the leader of the party their father founded.
The office of former President Mahama is yet to assign any reason for their inability to meet the Rawlingses.
