Manchester City have agreed on personal terms with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.
The Senegal international is on top of the English club’s summer transfer targets, and they seem a step closer to getting their man.
The deal will now rest with the two clubs agreeing on a fee, which should happen in the coming days.
If signed, the defender will become the third major signing for Pep Guardiola this summer, following the arrivals of Ferran Torres from Valencia and Nathan Ake from Bournemouth.
Koulibaly is arguably one of the best defenders in the world and has been chased by a number of top clubs across Europe.
Guardiola is desperate to land the towering figure, who could be paired with Aymeric Laporte in City’s defence for the 2020/21 season.
City are still in the market for a number of additions, with Lionel Messi becoming the latest to be linked with the immediate former Premier League champions.
