NDC MP offers support to Vice President

The regent of Katamanso and sitting Member of Parliament (MP) of Kpone Katamanso, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has wished the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia well in the upcoming elections.

He said whatever the outcome of the elections, they [NDC] will accept it.

“The Vice President is not my enemy, he is there for all of us and so whatever the outcome of the elections, we will accept it and then work with it,” he added.

Speaking when the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia called on him at his palace at Katamanso Thursday [October 1. 2020], Nii Afotey Agbo said he is a friend to most of the NPP executives and therefore politics should not be about insults.

Nii Afotey Agbo who was addressing Dr Bawumia and his entourage said even though his party – NDC – was in opposition, he was going about his activities freely without harassment.

He said where there was the need to advise, he would do so and advised against politics of insults.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has been representing the people of Kpone Katamanso on the ticket of the NDC in Parliament since January 2005 – 4th, 5th, 6th and the current 7th Parliament – but he has decided to step down this time around and concentrate on his chieftaincy role.

He is therefore not contesting in the 2020 parliamentary election in Kpone Katamanso.

He was one time the Greater Accra Regional Minister as well as the Volta Regional Minister under the NDC regime.
