Member of Builsa South Constituency Dr Clement Abas Apaak has called for the intervention of the National Democratic Congress’ Council of Elders in the wake of internal wrangling within the party.
The Communications Officer of the party took to his Facebook page on Thursday morning to call out the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban S.K Bagbin and the party’s leadership in parliament.
In his post, Sammy Gyamfi described Rt Hon Bagbin, Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Hon Muntaka Mohammed and other member of Parliament on the minority side as hypocrites and self-seeking politicians.
His post has not gone down well with the party’s leadership in parliament as well as MPs from the Minority group.
Dr. Apaak who also took to his Facebook page to register his displeasure with the comments and accusations leveled by Sammy Gyamfi, bemoaned how the rank and file of the party has subjected them to public mockery, ridicule and insults.
“How did we go from heros of the rank and file to villains? The anger directed at us by our own rank and file, the public mockery, ridicule, insults and attribution that we sold our integrity, loyalty and party for personal gain is paralysing”.
“Sadly, the history we made on 7th January has been wiped out by the events of March 3rd. We will be remembered by our rank and file as the caucus that soldout. When I wrote a few days before January 7th that I was proud to be part of a historic and history making generation, I clearly never expected to be part of this sort of history”.
“While we are sure to suffer the collective shame for a long time, I’m consoled by my clear conscience as are many other caucus members.”
“And quiet honestly, our current predicament can’t be resolved by us alone or with the national executives. I propose an intervention by the Council of Elders of the NDC, the MP for Builsa South lamented.
