A video recording of NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama checking into the Transcorp Hilton Hotel after they arrived in Abuja, Nigeria on Saturday morning after jetting into the country.

AccuratesNewsgh revealed on Saturday evening that the Ex- president had abandoned his campaign and has landed in Nigeria to solicit for some campaign funds.

In the video which is circulating on social media, Former President John Mahama was spotted in Abuja, Nigeria in the company of Kingsley Kwame Awuah Darko and Braimah Saaka Mahama, James Gbolo and Awoonor Afetsi Besa as the checked into the hotel.

This is the second time the opposition leader has travelled to Nigeria in the past month all in search of campaign funds.

It appears his initial trip was unsuccessful as most of the top Nigerian businessmen and politicians he met did not heed to his plea for support.

According to sources, most top businessmen and politicians who had funded the Former President in previous elections now for not see him as a viable candidate who can capture power from the Akufo-Addo led administration.

This is fueled by various opinion polls which have placed H.E President Akufo-Addo in poll position to win the elections and retain power.

Mahama is also expected to travel to Niger where he is hoping to court some support and secure funds to support his campaign.

It will be a very big blow should the ex-President fail to convince his  financiers this time around too as the party is solely depending on his resources to fund the 2020 elections campaign.

After exiting office in 2016, many even within the NDC have accused John Mahama and his family of amassing wealth hence the decision to re-elect him as flagbearer in order to fund party activities with the “stolen” wealth.

Concerns are also being raised as to the lack of resourcefulness of Mahama’s running mate Jane Naana Opoku and her inability to contribute financially to the campaign.

The former University of Cape Coast Vice Chancellor is having a torrid time campaigning across the country as party big wigs have complained about her unconvincing posture.
